Tech giant Apple has confirmed that M. Night Shyamalan’s psychological thriller series “Servant” will be premiered on Apple TV+ on November 28 globally. The announcement was made at the at New York Comic Con.
Produced and directed by Shyamalan Servant stars Lauren Ambrose, Toby Kebbell, Nell Tiger Free, and Rupert Grint in major roles. The story of the series revolves around a couple Dorothy (Lauren Ambrose) and Sean (Toby Kebbell) based on Philadelphia who are mourning after the death of their baby due to a tragedy. This creates a rift in the married life of the couple and opens the door for a cryptic force to enter their home. According to Shyamalan, the story shows the only way to adapt to this situation is the “fringe therapy”, that is to pretend their baby is still alive by replacing her with a doll. While Sean accept this as a truth, he becomes more doubtful and decides to hire a nanny to take care of their baby .i.e a doll.
A glimpse of the story was disclosed only after the release of the trailer October 3 which captions: “From M. Night Shyamalan, Servant follows a Philadelphia couple in mourning after an unspeakable tragedy creates a rift in their marriage and opens the door for a mysterious force to enter their home.”
Night Shyamalan is known for making some of the best contemporary supernatural films which includes names like The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, Signs, The Village, Split and many other. For The Sixth Sense, Puducherry born American filmmaker received a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Director and the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. In 2008, Shyamalan was awarded with the prestigious Padma Shri by the government of India.
