Nawazuddin Siddiqui to be honoured at Cardiff International Film Festival


Nawazuddin Siddiqui is known to give stellar performances for whichever roles he does. Whether it be Ganesh Gaitonde in Sacred Games or Faisal Khan in the two-part Gangs of Wasseypur series, Nawaz has won the hearts movie-goers globally with his power-packed performances. For his outstanding contribution to Indian cinema, Nawazuddin Siddiqui will be honored at the Cardiff International Film Festival with Prestigious Golden Dragon Award.

Rahil Abbas, founder – The Cardiff International Film Festival (CIFF), announced that Nawazuddin Siddiqui will be conferred with the Prestigious Golden Dragon Award during the festival that will be held from 24th to 27th October, 2019 at the historic Pierhead Building in the heart of Cardiff Bay, Wales. He added, “Nawaz is our special guest.” Suhail Syed, International Director and facilitator for activities related to CIFF in India, also confirmed Rahil’s announcement to honour Nawazuddin Siddiqui. He stated, “I was overwhelmed with Rahil’s response and was happy to take this news to Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who later confirmed his presence for the festival.”

Nawazuddin Siddiqui on getting this honor said, “I am very excited to be part of Cardiff International Film Festival and look forward to attending the festival in October. I would like to congratulate all the films being showcased at the festival this year.”

Alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui, popular Indian Television actor Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya, Bethan Sayed – Assembly Member and Chair of Culture and Media (Wales), Norman J, Florence Ayisi – Oscar-nominated Documentary Filmmaker, Warren – Legendary British Director, Keith Williams – Video Conceptual Artist, and Joe Ferrera – British Actor is the part of the Cardiff International Film Festival Jury for the year 2019.
